Which are the best places to park a 15 seater minibus ??

Before you buy a bus, you should make a comprehensive plan to run, maintain and manage it. This plan should include parking. If you purchase a bus without thinking about parking then you are in big trouble almost instantly the moment the bus is delivered to your doorsteps. Ideally, an oversized garage, a barn or even a shed is a good place to park your bus. However many individuals, businesses and organizations do not have these luxuries. Parking a bus is not similar to parking a car and the bigger your bus, the bigger the problem you have at hand. Always try to get parking space that is freely available. Otherwise, the parking fee will add up to your yearly maintenance cost which can be a substantial amount.

You can park your bus at public places almost anywhere in your vicinity like near a bus stop, at the side of the road, under a bridge, etc. However, make sure that the public does not actively use these places. For example when parking near a bus stop you have to park 20 meters behind the bus stop and 10 meters away in front of the bus stop. Why??? The answer is obvious, this space will give the public bus easy and obstacle-free access to the bus stop and passengers will be able to easily hop on to and alight for the public bus.

It is important to protect your bus from the elements. This enhances its looks, increases its service life and commands a higher price when you decide to sell it. Hence if you decide to park your bus at the side of the road. Then look for a place that is well shaded. For example under a big tree. Besides a building whose shadow falls on the side of the road during day time. Or under a bridge. Unfortunately, bus covers are not available in the market. If you own a minibus and park it in the open then it will be advisable to get a custom made a protective cover for your bus to save it from the elements. You can park your bus almost anywhere in the public as long as you can see other big vehicles parked in its vicinity.

Alternatively, it will be a good idea to mention your phone number on the bus. So if you park at the wrong place then people can call you easily rather than calling the traffic police.

Always make sure the bus is parked in a well-lit area and not far away from your home or office. Never park your bus in the dark and isolated places. This will invite the thieves who may steal away vital pieces of equipment from your bus or maybe even the entire bus.

If you don't have a free parking space nearby. Then it is advisable to go for paid parking and include the expenses in your overall plan to manage and maintain your bus on a yearly basis. Its better to pay and park your bus that is safe and secure rather than parking it out in the open where its exposed to the elements as well as miscreants. When you go for paid parking, make sure there are guards available 24X7 to keep a watch on all parked vehicles. A quick search on Google will let you know where you can park your bus nearby. Contact the parking company, ask their fee and the facilities & services they offer.

If you can manage to park your bus with a roof above it. That would be fantastic and extend the life of your bus for several years down the line.
