Used Buses For Sale | Call 516-333-7483 | How does one find used buses?

The best place to find any "used buses for sale" is the internet. From the comfort of your home or office. Visit Google and type in the above keyword. It will display several dealerships that sell these vehicles. The top 10 results belong to the industry leaders. They spend a fortune optimizing their websites, as a result their buses cost a fortune as well. To get the best deals make a list of all dealerships on the first 10 pages of Google. By doing so you will have a long list of dealerships that stock anywhere from 200 to 5 vehicles. At any given point of time in a year. Many times all the used buses for sale are listed on the dealers website. Buyers can view every vehicle and make a short list of the best that suit their budget as well as requirements. Then its time to call up the respective companies and ask for the best price possible. Even if the price mentioned in the description section of the vehicle, call up the dealership and ask for the best price. This is because sellers may list a bus for sale for $25,000 but its not the actual price. They leave a window of $4000 to $5000 for bargaining. If a buyer has made a list of 20 companies then he will have more space for bargaining. Make a note of all the best prices that have been offered by each seller.

Although, potential buyers can visit a dealership in person. But the problem is that they are not located everywhere. Most of them are  located far away from city centers. Sometimes there might be no licensed seller in the buyers home state. Buyers will have to travel to a different state to view all the inventory in person and may even return home empty handed thus leading to a lot of wastage in terms of time, energy and work productivity. That's why they should opt to search online for used buses for sale. Most buyers are more than 35 years of age and may not be familiar with Google and other used bus marketplaces online. They can ask their younger friends, assistants or subordinates to find the best buses for sale online. This will be far better than visiting a dealership in person. Because even if they are located in your home state, they will be far away from your place of residence. Why spend time and money when all the information you need is listed on the dealerships website? Some may argue that by visiting the seller's location in person we get a chance to personally look at the bus we are about to purchase. That is true but the fact is a common man is not qualified enough to inspect a bus. Even the smallest version of a bus is a big vehicle with thousands of components and wires. A buyer will have to take a friend or a mechanic along with him across thousands of miles to conduct a physical inspection of the motor coach. But this is a very traditional way of conducting a vehicle inspection.

In the modern era there are professional third party inspection companies that will thoroughly inspect a motor coach inside and out and produce a detailed report on paper for the buyers convenience. These inspection reports are vital in the buying process and can be produced in the court of law should the buyer get a bus whose condition does not match the inspection reports. The bus buying process is length and time consuming. Many dealerships try their best to simplify this process and hence they make contacts with insurance and inspection companies beforehand to make sure their customers don't have to waste their time shortlisting and calling each of them to get a quote. They even have well established connections with third party financing companies to make sure a customer gets financed on time should their budget fall short of the vehicle they intend to purchase. A physical inspection is really not required because inspection companies will never risk their reputation and standing in the market by providing false information. And their technicians are far better experienced and qualified to inspect a bus than you or any of your neighborhood friends.

So the details and description of the used bus for sale is mentioned on the website along with more than 40 photos taken from all possible directions. Through inspection is provided by 3rd party companies. Insurance and Financing is also taken care of by 3rd parties. All the buyer has to do is click on the buy now button and make at least a down payment of 20% of the total cost of the motor coach. The remainder has to be paid within 7 days of making  the down payment. The used bus will be delivered to the buyers location on a trailer service that too is owned by a third party hauling company. This article gives buyers a rough idea of how the entire buying process works. Everything is done online and there is no need to visit a dealership in person.

Used mini bus for sale | Call 516-333-7483 | Which company makes the bus?

The companies that make bus's are called bus manufacturers. In the United States there are more than a dozen of them. Like Ford, Chevrolet, GMC, Starcraft, Startrans, TurtleTop, Bluebird, International and many more. There are 3 different types of manufacturers. The first ones specialize in chassis making. Others have expertise in body manufacturing. And the best of them are the ones who make both the body and the chassis together. When the body and chassis makers are different, the bus has two distinct parts. But when both the portions belong to the same manufacturer the bus is a single piece vehicle. After getting a new order, the manufacturer first makes the chassis. It contains all essential components like engine, transmission, radiators, fuel tank and tires. This chassis is then driven up to the body builder's shop where the body is constructed over the chassis. The entire process takes approximately 3 to 4 months for completion. Until then the buyer will have to wait till the vehicle will be delivered to their location. New buses for sale are manufactured on demand, are expensive and almost impossible to customize. Who wants to modify a vehicle worth $75,000 before taxes and just out of the showroom. The average life of a minibus for sale is up to 15 years or 300,000 miles.

But there are used versions of the same new buses for sale by the same manufacturers mentioned above. They usually have used up 100,000 miles out of the three hundred thousand miles limit. The remaining 200,000 miles can be used and monetized by the second owner at a fairly affordable and cheaper price. Used buses for sale cost 40% to 60% less than new ones and its depends on the overall condition of the vehicle. Factors that impact the price tag are age, mileage, engine type, engine mileage, transmission type, transmission mileage, rust, comfort features etc. DIY enthusiasts love buying second hand buses for sale due to their affordability. They simply remove the seats and use the empty space for personal or professional requirements. Many have modified them into mobile homes and shops, thus giving birth to an entire industry of RV buses and shop on wheels for sale.

However, a used bus for sale should not be subjected to heavy duty transportation. They give the best performance when used sparingly once, twice or even thrice in a week. Many Transportation companies use them as a substitute for new buses, if in case they break down and are taken off the roads for several weeks. Many buyers don't understand whether they should opt for a new or a preowned bus. Sometimes they end up purchasing a new bus only to use it once a week or on special occasions. That is a very bad use of a new bus because why spend $75,000 for a vehicle that will be used only on birthdays or weddings. Buyers are advised to first figure out how many miles and how long they wish to drive their motor coach? If they want to operate it for more than 20,000 miles in a year then they need a new bus. But if the requirement falls short than this threshold then they definitely need a used bus for sale. Similarly, if they want to use the motor coach for more than 5 years, then buy new or else go for preowned. Remembering these facts and figures will go a long way in making a well informed buying decision. Thus saving thousands of dollars for the buyers. In general, two used buses for sale can be purchased with the budget of one new bus. There is tremendous growth potential in the transportation industry in regions that lack public transport. Startup companies can purchase a small bus for sale and start riding them right away with a regular licence. Short buses for sale are perfect for new entrants in the transportation industry because they are easy to park, manage, maintain and maneuver. Due to their short turning radius they can navigate through busy streets and narrow lanes with ease which are otherwise inaccessible by other larger buses. Once the cash starts flowing in, new fleet lines can be established with these second hand buses for sale. Due to their demand and versatility, many financial institutions have stepped in and made well established connections with dealerships. As a result buyers can get hold of a used bus even if it does not fit their budget. The financial packages are customized and tailored for every individual buyer depending on their financial situation. Thus no buyer can walk out of a dealership without the keys to their bus.

Major Vehicle Exchange has been selling used shuttle buses for sale from all the top brands mentioned in the first paragraph for more than three decades. We also help customers source spare parts from the above manufacturers and other dealerships. Thus making sure our customers don't get stranded with a vehicle whose spare parts are difficult to source and locate in the domestic markets. This alone goes a long way in the ownership process because it's not unusual for owners to sell their motor coaches early due to unavailability of spare parts. Owners will be forced to put their bus to rest and gather dust at a repair shop for several weeks or even months if spare parts are not found in the local markets. Every buyer should avoid this trap and buy buses from popular manufacturers like the ones mentioned above. Major Vehicle Exchange deals with only the top brands in the industry and never sell a model that's obsolete. Thus ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the ownership period. For more information on the types of buses we sell, visit our website by clicking on this link or call the owner Charles Kaufman at 516-333-7483 today!

Used buses for sale | Call 516-333-7483 | What is the most important reason to inspect your truck or bus?

Safety is the most important and the only reason to inspect a bus before a ride. Experts suggest to take a post trip as well to avoid any futuristic repairs on the road. Because repairing a bus on the road is 4 to  5 times more expensive than repairing in a shop. Owners and operators will never want their vehicles to break down on the road while in transit. The only way to avoid this unpleasant situation is to conduct a pre and post trip inspection. The driver knows well in advance of any upcoming repairs. And potential risks that can lead to accidents.

Drivers should conduct pre and post trip inspections. But they should also conduct inspections once every 24 hours when out on the road for several days. The most basic inspection includes, checking fluid levels. More detailed inspections should include checking for leakages in the engine system. Tire inflation, clutch, brake system, suspensions and shock absorbers. Ball joints, lights and more. These inspections prevent accidents and increases safety of everyone on the road. It avoids downtime and helps the driver reach his destination on schedule. Even the smallest bus weighs several tonnes. 10 plus obese passengers along with their luggage add more tonnes to the vehicle. Driving this heavy weight vehicle on highways at top speeds with  damaged brakes, disconnected wires and unsecured parts can be fatal for the passengers as well as for other road users. The driver should be 100% confident that his vehicle can reach its destination. Without breaking down. This confidence can come only with a detailed pre trip inspection.

Post trip inspections go hand in hand with pre trip inspections. Because no operator wants to detect a potential problem before starting the ride. It can take several hours to fix the problem and the passengers are left stranded. They will either have to wait for several hours to make the bus driveable. Or find alternate modes of transportation. No bus owner wants to be in this situation. Especially after spending thousands of dollars to buy a bus in the first place. Thus the concept of post trip inspection came into practice. After finishing every ride the driver should conduct a detailed inspection. He should check for potential damages that might have occured during the journey. This will give the technician or mechanic several hours to fix the problems before starting the next trip. Since repairs on the road are 5 times more expensive than in a shop, a post trip inspection allows sufficient time to fix a problem while its resting. During this resting time the bus can be taken to a repair shop to fix the issue affordably. As the owners will not be in a rush to get it fixed, the repair shop will charge them nominal fees. On the other hand if the bus were to break down on the road, then the owner would demand emergency repairs, giving the repair shop a premium fee for their service. Drivers can locate repair shops on the internet while in transit. For minor repairs a technician can pack his tools and drive up to the location of the bus in his private vehicle. But for major repairs, the driver will have to hire a tow truck to get the vehicle towed along with its luggage and passengers to the nearest repair shop. The average rate of a tow truck service is $75 to $125. The owners have started losing money even before the bus has reached a repair shop. Thus post trip inspection goes hand in hand with pre trip inspection.

Check for damages and if the bus is leaning on one side. Maintaining tire pressure is absolutely necessary for long trips. Over inflated tires can burst while under inflated tires can increase the friction with the road leading to faster wear and tear. Generally, tires tend to lose 1 psi pressure with every 5 degree increase or decrease in temperature. This can lead to a potentially dangerous situation if left unchecked. Other factors that can make tires lose pressure are punctures, loose valves, If the vehicle is losing 2 psi(pressure per square inch) every month then its needs professional attention and urgent repairs before the next trip. Because getting a flat or loose tire on the interstate can lead to accidents costing the lives of several people onboard and others on the road. A similarly dangerous situation can be created if the vehicle does not halt on time after the brakes are applied. The driver will have to test parking, emergency and hydraulic brakes to make sure there is no loss in air pressure or non operational. Control systems like accelerator, clutch, transmission, gauges, indicators, lights, steering wheel, wipers etc should be checked for full functionality.

This gives an idea of what it takes to drive a used bus for sale. Safety is important for everybody on the road. Regular and timely inspections will prevent disasters and catastrophic repair costs. Just like the saying goes "A stitch in time saves nine". Similarly, fixing minor defects and damages on time can prevent bigger repairs several weeks or months down the road.

Major Vehicle Exchange has been selling its used commercial shuttle buses for sale to buyers across the United States for more than three decades. Though our buses for sale are fully reconditioned from bumper to bumper with like new appearance we always advise our customers to train their drivers to conduct a detailed inspection of the vehicle before and after any trip. Used buses for sale | Call 516-333-7483 | When were buses invented? What were they used for?

In 1662, Blaise Pascal a French Mathematician started a seven horse drawn vehicle system running along regular routes. Some sources say there were 3 routes others say there were 6 and one of them had a circular route. Each carriage would carry 6 to 8 passengers and would charge a fee of 5 penny for a single trip. This new transportation system was very popular. But soon people lost interest and the system was out of business by 1675. This idea by Pascal was way ahead of its time. Bus services didn't returned back to Paris until the early 19th century.

Horse driven coaches operated for several decades before the 18th century in England. Around 1830's steam engines replaced horses on several buses. Ever since these vehicles kept upgrading with the advancement in engine technology. Today we have buses that operate on gasoline, diesel, CNG, and even electricity. Before horse carriage buses were limited to transportation within cities and towns. But advancement in modern technology gave birth to large coach buses. They transported passengers across several cities and even countries. Buses are the transportation life line of every country across the world. From developed countries, to developing and under developed countries, these vehicles are everywhere. They are transporting groups of several people from the dense jungles of Africa to the concrete jungles of New York and Manhattan. They are the first choice of public transportation for Governments across the world. Because all they need to get started is a decent road. Even if the road is not constructed, these vehicles can traverse them. Many countries in Africa dont have a cargo van. Due to poverty and bad infrastructure. Hence farmers transport milk from their camels and cattle to city centers in buses. The possibility of using a bus is innumerable. They are used by entrepreneurs, party animals, vacationers, hotels, church, casino, barbershops, transportation companies, retail businesses and even full time living. Where ever there is a need to ferry more than 4 passengers, there is a bus. Vans offer a good option but they are unsafe when loaded with more than 10 passengers. Buses have dual rear wheels for extra stability. Wider aisles and a tall roof to let people stand inside and walk around with ease. Due to these comfort features minibuses for sale have increased in popularity. They have replaced the 15 seater vans across USA.

Startup transportation companies prefer a small bus for sale over their larger counterparts. Firstly, they dont have to apply for a commercial licence to operate a short bus. Secondly, these vehicles are affordable compared to their larger brethren. Thirdly they are easy to navigate through busy streets and narrow lanes. Thus providing transportation services in areas that are not accessible by larger vehicles. Fourthly, due to their small size, they are easy to maintain and manage. They can park and cost less to repair. Last but not the least, they offer valuable hands on experience in owning and managing a bus. Once the owners figure out how to purchase a bus. And make money off it. Then they can upgrade to medium and full sized luxury coach buses for sale.

Modern buses were not invented over night. They evolved from horse carriages and replaced them completely in the first half of the 18th century after the industrial revolution. The revolution started in England around 1805 and by the 1830's all horse carriages weather private or public we replaced by automobile and steam powered buses.

In the modern era these motorized vehicles are used more by private organizations and businesses than transportation companies. But there are still others who are deprived of the benefits offered by a bus either because they dont have experience owning a bus or due to lack of knowledge and psychological barriers. For example many people think buses are big, cumbersome and expensive, need a driver with commercial licence, need a large parking space etc. This is partially true. The other half of this partial truth is that buses come in smaller sizes too which are fairly priced, easy to drive, park and maintain. Moreover, their prices fall by 45% to 70% after being in use for a few years. At this stage buses are the most affordable to people from all walks of life across the United States. Those who still cant buy them at reduced rates can opt for financing from 3rd party financial institutions at attractive interest rates even with below average and bad credit history.

Major Vehicle Exchange is a shuttle bus dealership that has sold hundreds of 15 passenger buses and 24 seater buses to customers across the United States for more than three decades. We recondition every motor coach before selling them to the next buyer thus giving customers the peace of mind that their vehicle will not break down unexpectedly. Our used buses for sale are one of the best preowned vehicles in the used bus industry with fully reconditioned and repainted interiors as well as exteriors. Thus giving each vehicle a like new appearance. At any point we maintain a stock of more than 40 used shuttle buses and update our website with their relevant information. Every bus has more than 40 photos, VIN# and a detailed description outlining the special features of the vehicles for sale. Used school bus for sale | Call 516-333-7483 | What is the use of a school bus?

As the name suggests, a school bus is for transporting students to and from the school. But, they can be used by colleges and universities too. They are identified by their yellow color and huge wheels which lift the body high above the ground. These vehicles make transportation easier for school children across the USA. Students get picked up at  a specific time and get dropped back home on time. School buses are also a great help for parents, because they don't have to travel to the school every day. Thus letting them focus on other important activities. In the absence of these magnificent machines. Parents would be forced to dress up along with their kids. Have breakfast and attend the school at least to its gates. For a few hundred dollars in fees, parents get to save thousands of hours.

These schoolies have several benefits for the parents as well as the child. Parents dont need to worry about the safety of their kids. Because they are in safe hands of the staff members of their respective schools. This gives them a sense of peace and confidence that their child is well cared. Students get a chance to make new friends beyond their classroom. They even meet seniors which otherwise might be impossible. They learn to be punctual because the bus always arrives on time everyday. They even get to manage their personal stuff like bags, water bottles etc.

These buses also help keep the environment clean. They take hundreds of vehicles off the roads. Without them hundreds of parents would have to turn their cars on to pickup and drop their children twice a day. Imagine the extent of traffic congestion this would cause. And the corresponding emission of carbon and nitrogen oxides in the atmosphere from each vehicle. School buses are yellow in color but they are green for the environment.

When they are listed for resale, these vehicles are a preferred choice for recreational purposes because they sell cheaper compared to other buses and have a very big passenger cabin which can accommodate almost anything to live comfortably on long vacations across the countryside. Some of the frequently used equipment by RV enthusiasts are refrigerators, water tanks, microwave, bed, cabinets, kitchen, air conditioner, tables, chairs, and much more. Sometimes an average bus might get overloaded with these equipment and cause overloading issues which is dangerous for the vehicle. But due to its large size school buses can take in everything and still have a lot of space to comfortably walk around. However, every second hand bus for sale needs to be repaired  and certified ready to hit the roads before being used again. This process is called reconditioning and it increases the overall life span of the vehicle by several years.

Major Vehicle Exchange is a used shuttle bus dealership that has been selling its mini and medium sized buses to clients across the United States for more than thirty years. Our minibuses can seat up to 15 passengers and medium sized buses can seat anywhere from 16 to 29 people. Though we don't sell yellow school buses we have a lot of vehicles that can be used for student transportation. Visit our website to check out all the used buses for sale we have in stock, shortlist your favorite vehicles and give us a call at 516-333-7483 during business hours. Used Passenger Bus For Sale | Call 516-333-7483 | What is the weight of a passenger bus?

Every bus is a passenger vehicle because its sole purpose is to transport people from one point to another. But the gross weight of each bus differs from others depending on several factors. For example number of seats, luggage capacity, engine type, transmission type, number of axles etc. Passenger carrying capacity is the number one factor determining bus weight. A 15 seater bus for sale will weigh less compared to a 24 seater bus. They both will weigh less than a full sized luxury coach bus for sale that can seat up to 50 passengers.

Any bus will have its gross weight mentioned on its owners manual. It will also have instructions on how not to exceed the total weight. Overloading can cause imbalance in the weight distribution across the body thus causing the vehicle to tilt in a certain direction which can severely damage its steel body structure even after being emptied. This damage can further lead to unwanted repairs or even accidents. The weight also determines the type of licence the driver should carry. For example a minibus for sale is comparatively lighter in weight hence it can be operated with a regular licence. However medium and full sized coaches require special training to be operated and the driver must obtain a commercial licence before driving them.

Heavier buses are longer, broader and taller compared to lighter buses. But the drawback is that they are expensive to purchase, difficult to park, operate and maintain. They have a large turning radius which makes them difficult to navigate through heavy traffic. These vehicles extend 4 to 5 feet beyond the rear wheel, so when they turn right the rear end oscillates towards the left and vice versa. Drivers have to be extremely cautious operating them making sure they don't hit someone or something at the back. The driver will have to obtain a CDL licence to operate them. It's a lengthy process to acquire a CDL licence and once its issued the owner gets stuck with the same driver. Drivers with CDL license command a higher wage compared to those with regular licence. Thus maintaining a team of CDL licensed drivers can soon become a financial headache for many businesses and organizations. Thus first time buyers should start with minibuses for sale, acquire knowledge and experience operating them and then upgrade to bigger and heavier buses after a few years. Also, bus registration fee depends on its weight, hence heavier buses will be charged a higher fee compared to lighter buses.

These vehicles should not be overloaded due to the problems it creates as mentioned above. However, in the rare event they exceed their weight restrictions then its tire pressure should be checked and maintained up to specification as suggested by the manufacturer to ensure a smooth driving experience. This information will be available in the owner's manual that comes along with the vehicle. Owners should never exceed the weight limits set for their vehicles. Research has found that fully loaded buses put more stress on their engines to carry the weight forward, as a result the engine emits more nitrogen and carbon dioxides compared to empty buses. This difference can be up to 9%. Fifteen average passengers can easily cross one tonne but with the obesity epidemic, 10 obese passengers can make up to a tonne of weight on the bus. Buyers should check out the gross and net weight of a bus before making the purchase. Coach buses have big powerful engines and can easily carry extra weight but this is not the case with smaller mini and medium sized buses. All buyers should be aware of the terminologies related to weight in the automobile industry. They are as follow:

1. Unloaded vehicle weight - The weight of your vehicle at the factory

2. Gross vehicle weight - Vehicle weight plus passengers, luggage etc

3. Gross vehicle weight rating - Exceeding this number could damage your vehicle.

Staying under these numbers is essential for safe operation of the bus and timely braking.

Major Vehicle Exchange is a used shuttle bus for sale dealership and has been selling mini, medium and full sized buses to customers across the United States for more than thirty four years. Checkout the 40 plus motorized vehicles mentioned on our website and call the owner Charles Kaufman today for more information about buses and their weights.

What is the difference between a bus and a coach?

Buses are of different types based on the number of passengers they can accommodate. The biggest of them is a Coach and the smallest is a  short, small, shuttle, tiny, commercial or mini bus. There is a special category of buses that is neither small nor large and are medium in size. These vehicles can accommodate anywhere between 15 to 29 passengers. Most of them have a 24 seat capacity. Small buses with 15 passenger capacity and medium sized buses referred to as a bus. Whereas a larger full sized bus is a  Coach. They can seat anywhere from 30 to more than 60 passengers. Buses are generally used for intra city travel i.e. within city limits. As a result they have to stop at many locations. They picking up and drop off passengers throughout the route. Transportation companies use them. But majority of the time individuals, corporate businesses and private organizations use them. For example an individual may buy a bus to change it into a recreational vehicle for full time living. A school will use the same vehicle for transporting its students. A daycare center or senior center will use it for weekly shopping. Excursions and other activities too. But Coaches are for intercity travel i.e. traveling across many cities. They even travel across several states, countries and continents. Most of the passengers traveling on a coach bus are domestic or international tourists.

Depending on the purpose each vehicle has a different design. For example intra city buses have a lot of space to accommodate standing passengers. But they often have basic comfort features. This is because the on boarding passengers will get off the bus within a few minutes or within an hour. Passengers of intra city buses travel short distances. Whereas Coaches have high end luxury features to keep their occupants comfortable throughout the journey that can last for several days. They have high back reclining seats, arm rests, foot rests, wifi connectivity, heavy duty air conditioners, dark tinted windows, overhead focus lights and air vaults for every passenger and much more. The comfort features occupy a lot of space within the vehicle hence they have narrow aisles and almost no space for standing. They don't require standing space because no human can stand for several hours traveling from one city to another. In other words buses are spacious but coaches are congested with luxury comfort features. The aisle of a normal bus is wide enough for two people standing next to each other, whereas the aisle of a coach bus is very narrow for just one passenger.

Both vehicles are fully motorized and it's important to note the type of fuel they use for operations. All minibuses are powered by a gasoline engine. These engines are small in size with comparatively less power because they seat only up to 15 passengers. Due to the small size of these vehicles they do not require a commercial license. Thus they are very popular with individuals, organizations and business buyers. The medium sized version was previously available with only diesel engines but with the advancement in engine technology and due to high customer demand they are now available with gasoline engines. Both are built on the same Ford van chassis but in the case of medium sized buses, the chassis is stretched and extended to accommodate the additional seats and the body is built afterwards. Manufacturers have different capabilities and depending they either focus on the body, chassis or both. Manufacturers who focus only on the chassis will make it to a derivable condition and deliver it to another manufacturer who specializes in body making. Such buses are often called as two piece buses because the chassis and the body were built separately. However, the big manufacturers have both the departments in-house as a result their vehicles are in one piece. Coaches on the other hand have to carry more passengers along with their luggage and transport them over long distances. It should be noted that passengers traveling long distances tend to carry more luggage. As a result these buses are equipped with high horsepower diesel engines. Because diesel has better fuel performance than gasoline. Diesel engines have the power to carry heavy loads compared to gasoline engines. Thus all coaches operate on diesel power.

Coaches can cost a fortune even if they are second hand. However, prices of mini and midi buses fall by almost 40% to 75% if they had one previous owner. It depends on the features, age and mileage. A bus may be selling at a lower price but it wont benefit the new owner if the previous owner did not maintain it on schedule and allowed rust to spread across its critical components. Hence it's important to fully inspect a used bus for sale before purchase. Third party inspection services can cost $100 for basic and $200 for a more thorough and detailed inspection. On average fully reconditioned used buses for sale are priced between $15,000 to $25,000 which is affordable to many American businesses and institutions.

Used Bus For Sale | Call 516-333-7483 | 2013 Ford E350 Non-CDL Wheelchair Shuttle Bus For Sale

Used buses for sale are one of the most affordable vehicles available for small, medium and large group transportation from 15 passengers to more than 50 passengers. Ever since the 15 passenger van was banned by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in 2006, the sale of second hand buses has increased dramatically in the United States. Van owners quickly got rid of their vehicles and started purchasing 15 passenger minibuses for their daily commute. From then on used bus sales has been increasing every year.

People generally travel in their cars or hire a taxi service for personal transportation. But these vehicles can accommodate maximum up to 4 passengers. In case of SUV's the maximum passenger capacity is 8 passengers. However, when it comes to transporting more people, then either multiple cars, taxi's or SUV's have to be arranged. This is not a convenient way of traveling especially if it has to be done frequently. Because every vehicle will need a dedicated driver, regular maintenance, and fuel. Its better to buy one minibus for sale rather than arrange multiple cars, taxis or SUV's. This will require just one driver with a regular licence, timely maintenance every 6 months and less fuel. On average a used bus delivers 9 to 12 miles per gallon. A 15 passenger bus for sale will replace 4 cars or taxis and 2 SUV's. The savings are more than obvious. First, owners will have to pay for a single drivers wage and secondly they will have to pay for less fuel and maintenance. Even the passengers will love traveling in group together rather than in multiple vehicles. This will increase their level of bonding and engagement with fellow group members and prevent attrition in the long term.

Some may think, who needs a bus? or why would used bus sales be increasing every year? The fact is many businesses and organization need a bus to transport their employees and members. For example a casino needs a bus to pickup and drop its members and a college needs a bus to provide the same service to its students. Similarly a sports team needs a bus to transport all its members together. Thus avoiding delays and absent ism. Buses are also used for special occasions like birthday parties, weddings, corporate meetings and more. Even individuals buy used buses for personal purposes like a recreational vehicle. These modified buses are used to travel across the North American continent or for living full time as a mobile home. Second hand buses are vehicles of choice for transportation companies because they can purchase two used buses for the price on one new bus. These preowned vehicles are used as a replacement vehicles when the new ones face downtime due to repairs or accidents.

Many buyers with big budgets dont know weather a new or a used bus will fit their requirement. As a result they end up buying a new bus worth more than $75,000 only to use it occasionally. Buyers are required to make a comprehensive plan before making any buying decision. If they want to use the bus for more than 20,000 miles in a year then they should buy a new vehicle. But if the requirement is way less than that threshold then they should opt for a used bus. Why spend $75,000 on a vehicle that will not be used to its optimal performance? Moreover a new vehicle will depreciate up to 40% in just the first year even if its not being used. Buyers with big budgets tend to loose money with new motor coaches during the time of purchase and even afterwards due to depreciation. Keeping this fact in mind, buyers should consider a used bus for sale before looking out for a new vehicle. Many Americans may ask but how much is 20,000 miles? A church bus runs merely 2 or 3 days in a week and barely puts 5,000 miles on its odometer. So if you want to use a bus with the same frequency of merely 2 or 3 days in a week, then you need a second hand bus. However, if the bus will be used throughout the week for commercial transportation then its better to go for a new motor coach. Miles are one factor to determine the type of bus your requirement needs. Time is another factor. If the buyer wants to use the bus for more than 5 years, then he should go for a new vehicle. Anything else than 5 years asks for a used bus for sale.
